Infertility

Achieving pregnancy may not always be easy and can result in an emotionally and financially stressful situation. Our physicians are here to assist with compassionate care through this often frustrating experience. There are many reasons a couple may have difficulty conceiving, and we can assist with a complete fertility evaluation and offer ovulation induction as needed. If IUI (intrauterine insemination) or IVF (in vitro fertilization) is needed, we will refer you to one of our colleagues specialized in the further treatment of infertility.

Menopause

Our doctors are trained in the issues that can arise in menopause and are here to assist you in the care of menopausal symptoms and in the routine screening and maintenance of your bone health.

Urodynamics
— a study used to diagnose the cause and nature of a patient's urinary incontinence;AAFP.org
Ultrasound
— a device that uses high-frequency sound waves to look at organs and structures inside the body; our office uses it for imaging during pregnancy for evaluation of the baby, as well as, for imaging of the female pelvic organs to aid in diagnosis of female issues
HSG
— also known as hysterosalpingogram; an x-ray test that looks at the inside of the uterus and fallopian tubes and the area around them; often used for workup of infertility
Mammogram
— an x-ray exam of the breast used to detect changes in the breast tissue to look for signs of breast cancer; ACOG recommends every 1-2 years for women age 40 and older and yearly for women age 50 and older; women with certain family histories of breast cancer may need sooner – discuss with your doctor; ACOG.org
Bone Density Screen
— an x-ray exam used to measure bone density for diagnosis of osteopenia and osteoporosis; screening should begin at age 65 for all women, but women with certain medical conditions and family history may need sooner – discuss with your doctor; ACOG.org
Gardasil
— a vaccine that prevents against the most common types of genital warts and cervical cancer; Gardasil.com
Colposcopy
— a specialized microscope that aids in visualization of the cervix to help with further workup of an abnormal pap smear; biopsies of the cervix may accompany the procedure as needed
LEEP
— also known as loop electrosurgical excision procedure; a procedure that is used to remove abnormal tissue of the cervix; WebMD.com
Circumcision
— a procedure that removes the foreskin at the tip of a baby's penis; done in the clinic up to two weeks after birth; AAP.org
